Dave's distinguished seventeen year journey in the general contracting and roofing industry has culminated in the foundation of ERS Metals, where his vast experience—from owning a general contracting and roofing company to pivotal roles in sales, project management, and operations—guides the firm's direction. His recent years in Florida have sharpened his focus on roofing, setting the stage for his tenure as VP of Operations at a prominent multi-state company before co-founding ERS Metals alongside his business partner, Jeffrey Mills. 


At ERS Metals, Dave orchestrates all operations, from onboarding new contractors, partners and team members to overseeing clients’ projects, managing product development, and leading software development, embodying the core of the company's activities. The professional ethos David maintains at ERS Metals is a reflection of his personal commitment to truthfulness, hard work, and reliability, values that permeate every aspect of his life. While ERS Metals demands most of his time, he finds solace in the thrill of the open road on his restored classic Harley-Davison motorcycle. Dave's dedication is not just to his work but also to embracing the joys of life in Florida, all while staying committed to his family.

This extensive background laid the foundation for his recent roles, including a pivotal position as VP of Risk Management and Human Resources with a leading roofing contractor, before venturing into entrepreneurship alongside his business partner, David Woelper, to co-found ERS Metals.

A first-generation college graduate, Daniel holds a degree in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University, where he developed a foundation in problem-solving and a dedication to precision. His career took a unique turn as he transitioned into sales, excelling across industries and recognizing a common need for custom software to support operational efficiency.

Self-taught in programming, Daniel has become a versatile professional who merges his sales insight with technical expertise to build the proprietary IMQ software that ERS Metals' contractors and clients depend on daily. As the lead developer, he single-handedly crafted the Instant Metal Quote (IMQ) platform from the ground up, designing a user-friendly interface that allows contractors to quickly generate accurate quotes for metal roofing projects, streamlining the process with real-time pricing and material options. His unwavering focus on doing things the "right way," combined with his obsession with detail, ensures that every aspect of IMQ—from its robust calculation engine to its seamless integration with ERS Metals' inventory—reflects his high standards.
